Eagle Ridge Resort and Spa is one of the largest golf facilities in the Galena, IL. area. It contains 63 holes and four courses. The courses are: The North, The South, The East and The General Course. The North Course at the facility is listed on the Zagat 2009-2010 list of Top Golf Courses. It features elevated tees,long,wide fairways and large undulating greens. Designed by Roger B. Packard, the course opened in 1977. The East Course(9 holes) opened in 1992 and provides an excellent practise facility to test your skills. The South Course(18 hole) opened in 1984 and has more narrow fairways.On 11 of the 18 holes a creek forms a natural hazard, and large oak and walnut trees frame the fairway. The General Course opened in 1997. It has a more challenging layout. Andy North and Roger B. Packard were involved in designing this course which has over 250 feet of elevation changes. A creek runs through and comes into play on many of the holes of these courses. Golfweek magazine labeled the resort as "One of America's Best Resort Golf Courses".

TPC at Deer Run is located in Silvis, IL. Designed by D.A. Weibring to host the John Deere Classic, the course takes the requirements of a PGA professional in mind. Built in 2000, it provides a state of the art practise facility, and all the challenges the game requires. Mature hardwoods line the rolling fairways. The Rock River comes into play on nine holes. 70 bunkers are stategically placed throughout the course. Blind spots, doglegs and difficult chipping areas are added on some of the holes to increase its difficulty.

The Swan Creek Golf Club in Avon, IL. opened in 1970. It was designed by william J. Spear. It opened as a 9-hole course, and was added on to now become an 18-hole course. The new length is 6,800 feet, with a par of 72. The rating is 71.5 and a slope of 125. The fairways are tree-lined with water hazards on many holes, and the greens are large.

The Champions Executive course at Hillcrest Resort is located in Orion, IL. The course opened in 1993. Designed by Dan Kosth and Jim Lamp, the course is a good way to practise your shots. It features bluegrass fairways and bentgrass on its medium sized greens.
