Each area of Southern California is unique to each community. Whether you want the inexpensive, but high-quality golf at the Inland Empire which offers Menifee Lakes Country Club located in the Southern California wine country, the Links at Summerly, which captures the essence of the Cleveland National Forest and nearby Lake Elsinore, or the rugged Oak Quarry Course, which winds its way through the historic Jensen Quarry, each provides a unique experience for the golfer. Each area has an adventure so look around and see what’s available.

As you travel down the state you find more of the features that have lured generations to California. The Coyote Hills course in Fullerton was partially designed by Payne Stewart, and covers 250 acres of views of the countryside. Dominquez Hills, in the L.A. County city of Carson, offers one of the areas largest driving ranges, so you have an excellent opportunity to improve your game. Take a step into history at Meadowlark Golf Club, in Huntington Beach. Built in 1922, it is one of California’s oldest golf courses and provides a challenging game for all skill levels. If you don’t have much time, head over to the executive 9-hole course at Lake Forest. And, don’t forget to visit Rancho San Joaquin, in Irvine, where the rolling hills and gentle slopes are sure to give you a wonderful golf experience.

As your trip takes you to Palm Springs, you will experience the desert side of California. A visit to the Cimarron Golf Club, which has two courses, The Boulder or long course, and the Pebble or short course is a necessity. Both are designed to showcase the spectacular Coachella Valley Mountains and to provide a desert links-style golf experience while enjoying the wilderness views. You can take a swipe at the ball at the location of the 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006 PGA Skins Game. You could be able to compare how you’d stack up to the champion. If you enjoy the challenge of a Robert Trent Jones Jr. course, you will enjoy the Desert Dunes Course, in Desert Hot Springs. With its links-style design complete with undulating greens and strategically placed bunkers, it is sure to challenge the best golfers. In the area are two Troon-managed resorts, the Escena and the Westin Mission Hills Resort. Both make available resort amenities for the desert getaway. Or travel over to Shadow Ridge, a Marriott Property in Palm Desert, and play a Nick Faldo golf course famed for its beautiful views of the Santa Rosa mountain landscape.

And at the bottom of the great State of California, you are treated to the San Diego Golf Courses.
