Indiana is the home state of famed golf course designer Pete Dye. As a result many courses bear his modern design and difficult holes, and are perfect for the experienced golfer. Best known is the private course Crooked Stick, site of the 1991 PGA Championship, in Carmel. Try Indianapolis course Brickyard Crossing or Quail Crossing in the southwestern part of the state for other challenging courses.
